Constructing a Well-Diversified PSX Portfolio

Building a robust stock portfolio on PSX requires more than just picking good individual stocks — it demands a systematic approach to diversification, sector allocation, position sizing, and periodic rebalancing. A well-constructed portfolio balances growth potential with risk management, ensuring that no single stock or sector can devastate your overall returns if things go wrong.

The ideal PSX portfolio for most investors includes exposure to 8-15 stocks across at least 4-5 different sectors. Core holdings should be blue-chip companies with strong fundamentals and consistent dividends, while a smaller allocation can go to mid-cap growth opportunities. Your sector allocation should consider correlations — for example, banking stocks and highly leveraged companies move in opposite directions when interest rates change, providing natural diversification within your portfolio.
